HANDS is a Registered Not-for-Profit Organization founded in February 2009 with the aim of promoting health, nutrition, education, alleviation of poverty and stoppage of all sorts of human rights abuses especially child abuse and gender based violence while promoting good governance at all levels in the society including women empowerment; and the elimination of worst forms of child labour including commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking.

Mission Statement
To address the main survival challenges facing the poorest of the poor, orphans and vulnerable children in order to improve their living conditions and combat the spread of HIV and AIDS, promote good Governance, Human Rights and economic empowerment through income generation opportunities and support of community grass root institutions so as to empower the underprivileged communities and mobilize resources at local, national and international level while promoting transparency and accountability at all levels.
